You little Yo-Yo tutorial

I've been making these little cuties all day. They are those little sewn circles called Yo Yo's and they are so much fun to decorate with! The possibilities are endless with them. I think I might make myself a little pillow or something. Anyway just wanted to share them with you~ Here is a simple step by step way to make yourself some Yo yo's!

Step1- Find yourself a circle for your yo yo. On the wrong side of your fabric, trace around the pattern. For example I used a coaster to trace onto my fabric. It was about a 4" circle

Step 2- Cut out that cute little circle :-)

Step 3- Iron down approx. a 1/4 inch fold all around your circle. This makes it easier to sew, although you don't necessarily need to iron it down.

Step 4- Fold under a scant 1/4" along the edge of your circle, as you stitch close to the folded edge. Use strong thread and make sure it's long enough to go around the full circumference of the circle, with some to spare.

Step 5-Once you've stitched around the entire perimeter of the fabric circle, gently pull your stitching thread until the edges gather to the center. Make a couple of stitches to secure your gathers, then knot and trim your thread. Squash your yo-yo flat with an iron, with the gathers centered on the top of the yo-yo.

And there you have it! A cute little Yo yo! Careful they are addicting to make!
